Stop Rezoning for 83-units on Camp Branch Road - June 23rd Meeting
STOP REZONING FOR 83-UNIT DEVELOPMENT ON CAMP BRANCH ROAD!
Please sign this petition to stop a high-density development at 3379 and 3409 Camp Branch Road (see purple highlighted lots on map below). This development will make way for more high-density developments in our area, increase traffic on a narrow county road, and goes against the County’s own UDO 2045 plan.
The applicant is requesting to rezone these 2 lots to OSC (open space conservation). Approximately 13 acres of the roughly 30 acres are not buildable due to ponds, flood plain requirements, and steep sloping. The builder is requesting that 83 homes be built on the remaining 17 acres. This puts each home on 0.21 acres—less than ¼ of an acre. The developer states that this matches with the surrounding area; however, we all know that is not the case along Camp Branch Road! The "comparisions" used in the rezoning application are NOT even along Camp Branch Road!
Although we had a good turnout at the Planning & Zoning Meeting, with that board recommending a unanimous denial of the proposed plan, the developer is still proceeding with the rezoning application! The meeting on June 23rd is for us as community members to band together and show our opposition to the County Commissioners, who will make the final decision as to whether this proposal gets approved. JUNE 23rd is CRITICAL! We need LOTS of homeowners to show up (and wear RED)! Together we can maintain the character of our Camp Branch Community!
